Hello, from Cath Freemantle!

Well, my first foray into the world of the blog - and I have to say I am more than a little daunted! So why do it?? I guess I love what I do - I love the concept behind Bump, Baby & Beyond and would love to share more about our site, products, styles and other information with all who are interested! I want to hear more about what our customers, both existing and potential, want and need.

Bump, Baby & Beyond was a idea born of necessity - when pregnant with Cameron, now three, I found it virtually impossible to source maternity wear at a decent price. I live in jeans, so a great pair of maternity jeans was a must… though try as I might, I couldn’t find anything of decent quality locally under $100 - a price I just wasn’t prepared to pay.

Originally from Melbourne, I moved to country Victoria when I met my husband, Alastair. One of the things I found I missed terribly was not just shopping, but factory shopping - I hadn’t realised how spoilt for choice we where! My idea was - why not bring the factory shopping experience to the country? By the time my idea had grown from more than mere day dreaming to a real possibility, Cameron had arrived and my frustration moved to sourcing affordable, quality children’s clothes.

And so it started - following an approach to a manufacturer whose baby clothing I had found fabulous for Cameron in terms of quality, fit and being easy to care for, I had my first shipment of stock delivered, a site developed and a new business begun!

From there to here has been a long journey - one that I wil write more about shortly.
